- Marvel Entertainment enters the market for Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT).
- Orbis Blockchain has partnered with the movie studio.
- NFT Digital Comics and Collectibles will be available via the Veve App.
The comic book and film studio Marvel Entertainment has entered the Non-Fungible Token (NFT) market. Marvel fans will be able to purchase Marvel NFT memorabilia, digital comic books, and more, according to the fully-owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company and the famous comic book author.
An NFT is a one-of-a-kind digital token developed using blockchain technology. NFTs, on the other hand, represent a broad range of physical and intangible things. NFTs, on the other hand, often offer digital ownership while still maintaining real-world pricing.
Marvel Entertainment and Orbis Blockchain have teamed up.
Marvel Entertainment has announced a new collaboration with Orbis Blockchain Technologies Limited, a digital collectibles company that operates the VeVe Digital Collectibles app. In order to provide a worldwide digital collectibles experience in the next months.
Fans will also be able to purchase and interact with authentic Marvel NFT digital collectibles for the first time. On VeVe’s application platform, 3D sculptures and digital comic books are also available via mixed reality.
Dan Buckley, President of Marvel Entertainment, adds,
“Collecting has always gone hand in hand with being a Marvel fan from the beginning… Veve, like us, recognizes that collecting is as much about the experience as it is about the product, and we look forward to continuing to provide that experience for our fans in the years ahead.”
Users of the Veve app may also look for rare NFT comic books and memorabilia, according to the release. They could, however, show off their hard-won collection in completely customized virtual showrooms.
Veve’s in-app money is called gems. The gems will be required to purchase official Marvel NFT merchandise, and NFT owners may resell them on Veve’s marketplace.
Marvel is following in the footsteps of its rival, DC Comics, who announced the introduction of NFTs in March 2021. This was preceded by a letter from DC Comics’ legal counsel to freelance artists telling them to stop creating DC Comics-based NFTs.
In the coming weeks, more information regarding Marvel’s intriguing new digital collectibles will be released.
